Can you check something for me yo see how your cars behaves?
There is something that I saw since the first days.
Car locked, then without having the key with you, try to pull the door handle, of course touching also the button from the handle. The climate display lights on in my case (dimming light) and some buttons on the display are lighted. Also the Maserati badge on the middle (the one with the clock).
This evening I was trying also at the trunck and a massage popped up on the cluster saying "to operate the trunck, you need to unlock the vehicle"
Ok, this is something that I can live with, but still I consider it is not normal for the car to light itself at the interior and to give messages to unauthorised people.
My car is in the service center so I won’t be able to test but hopefully someone else can. I agree that the car should not do anything if you touch the door handle and you don’t have the key in the proximity zone.
It’s another example of bad programming and what should be a simple change just like the constant beeping. It’s wrapping“if then else endif” code around current functions.

Quite difficult to drain the batery only pulling doors and trunck handle..
It means to do this all night. What is abnormal is the behaviour itself.

Anyhow, speaking about the sound of the horn of the car. Does anyone have the feeling it sounds like the horn of the cheapest Fiat available to buy?
It sounds embarrasing. Got better in the Vauxall Vectra 15 years ago.

Agreed. The Jeep has exactly the same sound. It’s called parts sharing. The same can be said of the indicators or turns signals. It sounds very 90’s. I understand the reasons for part sharing and all manufacturers do it but not in the top luxury brand in a group Especially when the part is a little dated And it’s an easy change to make it different.

As you say all manufacturers share parts. But yes they do also do it in top luxury brands in the group, Just look at Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti and Porsche all the same group and all are loaded with VW and Audi parts from all models, also BMW and Rolls Royce 😆. In fact Carwow done a full survey of a Lamborghini Urus not a single part was Lamborghinin it was all Audi, VW and outsourced parts coupled together, just the badge was Lamborghini 😆 Then look at when the Ukraine war broke and the closure of one factory of electrical parts and looms to the motor industry effected many manufactures also using same parts, so all car manufacturers are just assembling parts from variant sources that supply the cheapest.

I believe it could prevent the car's sleep stages. If you leave the car unlocked for a few days It enters a sleep stage where for example the Maserati Care app gets disabled as well as the proximity sensor functionality. All that to save battery. Maybe if someone try to open the car like every few days it'll never go into that state... 🤷‍♂️

Like it's pretty common now in US to people to go car by car trying handlers looking for unlocked cars to steal from them... Some people even let the car unlocked on purpose to try to avoid a broken window...

Drove the car for 5 weeks, less than 500 miles, 10 days ago all the dashboard lights went on and the car stopped, got towed to service and been sitting there since then. A BRAND NEW CAR needs a repair and a part replacement with less than 500 miles driving, the parts have to come from Italy and will take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive. Again a BRAND NEW CAR.

Oh My. Did you at least get a loaner?

A Kia Sorento.
They said they can not cover more than a $50 per day rental and they do not have a loaner to give me
You will most likely have a lemon if they don’t get it fixed within 30 days if you want to go down that route. What state are you in? I finally got an arbitration date from GA for 9/27 so Maserati are now forced to respond and not ignore me.

Situation:

When parking the car, it said that parking brake is automatic engaged, but still after lifting the foot from the brake, the car rolls 2-3 inches as seems it became steady with the help of the gearbox brake and not with the parking brake.
I was pulling myself the button of the hand brake to be sure it is engaged and to eliminate the software mistake that said the parking brake is self-applied but in reality, is not applied. The same result after lifting the foot from the brake....the car rolls if not flat terrain. IMO, the parking brake it is not working. Also, on both BMW and Audi when parking brake is applying, an electric motor makes the specific noise when pulling the brake...the Grecale nothing.

All this from above makes me think my parking braked doesn't work and it never did.

Can you confirm how your car behaves regarding this?

What is funny, is the fact when starting the trip, the car doesn't want to go until I push the button to release the parking brake.

@edit: you can adjust the parking brake. If it should work automatically. When I stop the engine, I can hear the noise of the motor of the parking brake in the back immediately.
regards 👍
…when you start: you have to be fastend by seatbelts. Otherwise unlock doesn’t work!

What do you mean with adjusting the parking brake?
As I said, when I stop the engine, the car gives me the message the parking brake is automatically applied, but it seems not. When seeing the car rolls after this message, I was trying to apply myself the parking brake, with no result and no noise from the electric motor from the back of the car that pulls the brake.

Of course, I should fasten the seatbelt when starting, but we are not speaking about that.
What I say is the car is giving me the funny message to release the park brake when starting...a parking brake that doesn't exist and it is not working.

I’ve also found that my parking brake doesn’t always engage even though it is set to auto engage. I don’t remember when I get the message but I know it’s been set as it won’t pull away until I deactivate the brake with the button. I have a feeling that it only auto engages if you put the car into park before turning off the car. I often turn off the car before I push the park button. Test that and let me know your results.
