Having same issue with mine after owning for only 4 months.
Welcome to the forum.

There are a few pointers in this thread, but the most common problem is storing your key fob to close to the car when parked up. If you have tried all on this thread without success I would return to your dealer. Shouldn't be like this and as Iv'e posted before have left my car in London airport parking for over 16 days and returned to no problem started first time. Good luck in getting it sorted (y)

Hi shawndarter,
We recommend visiting your local authorized dealer regarding this concern. Our team would like to assist you here alongside your dealership. Once an appointment is set, please send us a private message with your VIN, so we can get you connected with a case manager. Thank you.

Take it back to your Dealer

Had our Grecale for a month during which time there have been periods of 3 or 4 days where the car hasn’t been used. Not seeing any issues.

Be interesting to know what the issue is

Tony
Just back from two weeks holiday, and car started with no issues. I was worried after reading reviews on here! But, touch wood, not an issue I have seen so far😊

Based in the UK, picked up my Modena in March. Battery died for the first time a few months ago, since then it won't last more than 5 or 6 days without going completely flat so sent it back to dealer. They kept it for 4 weeks (I was out of the country) and have done nothing more than a software update, they allege this has resolved it.

I have the car back as of yesterday and will see if this has helped, but I am somewhat sceptical.

Welcome to the forum.

There has been many owners that have had this issue in the past, one of the main reasons along with others was storing your keys/fob to close to the car when parked up. Many have had software updates and I believe all if not most no longer suffer.

I'm sure it should be OK considering it was at the dealers for 4 weeks and obviously parked up there so they should know whether it is Ok or not.

It seems I've found a simple and very inexpensive solution to the problem of abnormally fast discharging batteries in Grecale due to their close placement to the parked vehicle: get one of the many Faraday signal-blocking bags/pouches for FOBs, car keys and cell phones available online for as low as $8-$30. Most are well-made and properly sized for Grecale keys. I think Maserati should look into providing such signal blocking storage cases for its cars.

Yes this has been mentioned in an earlier thread, but thanks for your input, always appreciated by members, and this does remind those that missed the earlier thread. (y)

Hi,

Yes anybody with a keyless entry vehicle should be using a faraday pouch unless they want their vehicle stolen by thieves using a relay attack. (check on YouTube you will be shocked how common this is with any make of vehicle)

Maserati use to have an option in the car menu system to disable keyless entry, but removed it due to the possibility of stupid drivers just wearing the keyless wrist band and turning keyless entry of in the menu !?!?!? and then exiting the car and then cant get back in when it locks !!!!

I have pushed Maserati to put the feature back in as I believe its the drivers responsibility not the manufacturer top enable/disable this type of function, also if you have the Maserati mobile app AND get locked out of the car like above - then you can unlock the car with the app, so no issues !!

Maserati's response is that they wont be bringing this keyless entry disable feature back - which is a shame, it wont be long before insurance companies start increasing premiums if you have this feature enabled and are NOT using a faraday pouch/box..

Another simple feature they could have done is to make the key fob go to sleep after say 10 mins of zero movement (simple to do) and wake when moved, this would stop the fob sending signals to the car - removing the potential. theft and battery drain and no need for a faraday pouch.

There is a 3rd party product in the USA that fits in the key fob between the battery and pickup and works just like above - after a zero movement period, the device cuts the power in the fob between the battery and pickup, when the fob is moved, it take the circuit again and all works.

Thanks "Paulo" some good points and pointers/ideas for members there (y)

Ours lasted about three weeks before the second time it’s dead in the garage. I believed the first “software glitch “ story not this time. They should provide full money back buy backs and remove from market until car is ready to sell.
Just bought my new Ghibli Modena. I had it 2 days and it's being towed back to the dealership. Dead battery issues.

Hey everyone
Just received my grecale and unfortunatelt, I’m having to jump start it frequently as it dies overnight every few days. I’m also getting an SOS call battery failure light on the dashboard. Is anyone else having this issue? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

What was the solution in your case?

Welcome to the Grecale forum

Not sure if the Ghibli is the same, but the most common issue with dead battery was storing key fob to close to the car when parked up, key fob needs to be stored at least 6 meters away.

Good luck in getting the car sorted ASAP.

How terrible and heart breaking to read another post about Grecale battery issue..
My brand new Grecale‘s battery died 4 weeks after purchasing the car. A new battery was installed then.
Did not have any other battery issues till a year later and after Maserati serviced the car. The car was taken back and stayed at the dealership for 2 weeks. Another new battery was installed. 5 days later the battery died again. The car was taken back to the dealership for the 3rd time. They cannot figure out the issue, and it is still at the dealership.

We kept the key fob quite far from the car, so it is not the proximity of the key fob that is causing the dead battery With our car.

We are very frustrated that Maserati is not investigating the matter more vigorously. All they did is have these ladies from customer care replying with useless empathy to our posts. I have to say, my dealership service manager is amazing, and is taking the matter more seriously than Maserati.

I had 3 updates and this has not solved the issue, battery kept dying. Unless here in the USA, the dealerships are not installing the right updates.

Welcome to the forum "MrR" but sorry that you joined because of a bad issue, but that is one of the purposes of a forum to discuss and compare both good and bad.

The battery issue is very far and very few now since late last year as Maserati seemed to get on top of it. Unfortunately it sounds like you have an anonymous issue that hopefully both your dealer and Maserati are addressing to the best of their ability. Good luck and hope it is sorted for you real soon, please do try to keep us all updated, as so many join the forum stamping their feet with an issue never returning to give us any updates.

It always helps if you also state which model you have when posting or better still add in your profile.
