My dealer in Florida says they can get authorization to repair nearly anything from Maserati USA in Auburn Hills, Michigan. They can also contact troubleshooting techs in Michigan. The notion that everything must go through Italy is a choice each dealer makes. USA dealers can do everything at Maserati USA headquarters in Michigan unless USA headquarters refers the dealer to Italy. Most parts can also be obtained throughout the USA and can be shipped from Italy within 72 hours at worst case.

My service visit had everything done between the dealer and Maserati USA HQ and HQ contacts Italy if needed.

I hope this sheds some light on Maserati within the USA.

That parts talk is a real mess... I've been told they were waiting for the multimedia display to arrive from Italy (for 2 months now). But then yesterday the dealership technician called me to give some feedback and told me they're still waiting for that part and that he estimate it'll take from 2 to 4 weeks as the UAW strike is impacting the parts. How is the strike impacting the parts if it should be coming from Italy? 🤷‍♂️

So nice to read you have a good dealer in the US that seems to know whats it's about (y)Just that reading posts on this forum from some in the US it appears service varies vastly from dealer to dealer. As your dealer has pointed out it can be done, shame that all dealers don't sing off the same hymn sheet in the US, especially as the US is apparently one of the largest Maserati markets.

Your dealer in the USA most likely got the parts from Maserati USA and now that the UAW strike has occurred they might only be able to get the part from Italy now which could take longer. Your dealer could also be making stuff up to deflect blame away from them for the delays.

I can’t blame the dealers in the USA. My dealer only does Maserati and Ferrari And all the issues I have faced and the lack of resolution is down to the lack of support the dealer is getting from Italy and the time they take to respond. We are now waiting for a new onboard computer and 5 antennas and it’s been a month without Italy providing any forecasted date as to when it will be shipped.

The new redesigned control box and antennas are physically available here in the UK. My dealer offered to fit these new parts last week, but we are away on holiday.

Very strange that decisions on this side of the pond get made quickly and without any fuss 🤷‍♂️

@WarrenB - Any progress with returning your car?
Good to know. I’m going to mention that to the dealer. It seems like that they ship parts on sail boats :)

No one had heard from Maserati and arbitration was meant to be last week Thursday. Turns out the state had old contact info for Maserati so they only received the states and our documentation last week Monday and didn’t therefore get any paperwork submitted in time. The arbitrator moved the date to Oct 26. I continue to drive it and live with the frustration. We did a road trip a week ago and stopped half way to fill up. When I got back into the car, I couldn’t get it to start as the car just wouldn’t recognize the key. Some things are now a little better after the last service visit, but some are also worse. Opening the trunk now work 70% of the time compared to 20% previously.
