Hello to all - Newby here to the forum. 2023 Grecale Trofeo purchased brand new in October 2023 with maybe 15 miles on the ODO.

Sorry to ramble but here we go: I drove my creampuff trouble free until December when I received my first Service Air Suspension System error message and my Grecale literally bounced me all the way home.

Shut if off, and went back 30 minutes later, system reset and all is well - right? Sadly, my next drive that same day let me go a few miles down the road and same Air Suspension warning message reappeared. Maserati took it into the shop and kept if for a month. I got it back mid-January and didn't make it out of the parking lot and the same Air Suspension warning reappeared.

After two additional weeks in the Maserati shop, multiple software updates, one very expensive (under warranty) Italian air pump, I drove off again from the dealership. I drove it for 24 hours and received a new error message while driving: Air Suspension System Cooling Down Please Wait (see image). I am now back in the dealership shop with no clear direction in sight. Sadly, I've owned it for 5 months, been in the shop for a total of 2 months, and have only driven it 2,800 miles.

Each time I received an error message it was under normal driving conditions, either while driving, or right after putting it into park.

Anyone here had this experience and was there an obvious fix? The Maserati guys are pulling out their hair on this one... but so am I.

Sorry to hear you are having a problem with your air suspension. I to sometime ago now had the Service Air Suspension System light come up, but after turning off and leaving for sometime this all reset it's self on restarting and not had an issue since, so obviously software reset it's self, as all computers do occasionlly, got the dealer to check anyway and no issues were found. Had similar thing in my Porsche Macan again just turned off for a while and restart all OK. Good luck and I hope you are reinstated with your Trofeo very soon all fixed and raring to go.

I’ve also had the same repetitive air suspension warnings and my Trofeo has been in the dealer multiple times for several weeks. They intially said it was a software issue but it wasn’t. I’ve escalated it with the Maserati ceo Davide Grasso directly. My car is currently at the dealer and the latest is that they are installing new shock absorbers. Very disappointing in a car as expensive as this is.

 

Hi UKTrofeo - sad to hear you're having the same kind of issues. They've done several software patches with me and new air system pump. I was told last Friday they were looking to replace the Air Suspension System ECU but that was simply a guess at this moment.

Sorry to hear you guys are experiencing these issues. At least they are focused and determined to get this resolved for you - even if it’s a process of elimination essentially by replacing one component after the other. Hopefully you have a loaner during any extended periods that you have been inconvenienced. Please, each of you, update us on the resolutions.

 

Seems a pattern for air suspension trouble on the Trofeo only!
It is true the Modena and GT have it as option, but there any many of them equiped with air here on the forum.

 

My Modena doesn’t have air. I wanted it, but now glad I only have adaptive springs! Do miss air, as my last 2 cars had it.

 

I am now at 12 weeks total in the shop for this item. I am now in week 3 without my Grecale as they tell me they are working with Italy every day on the issue. Just don't see a clear path ahead unless they just remove and replace all components. Sad scenario...

 

I've only owned mine for a few weeks, and no issues on the Trofeo here. All software updates were supposedly made on mine in mid-March. Fingers crossed I don't join the air suspension club.

 

UPDATE: After 21 additional days in the Maserati/Ferrari shop, Maserati ordered and replaced my air pump and front left air shock. Hoping not to jinx it but we have driven it for about 150 miles and so far, so good. Sadly there was no real smoking gun in this 3 month long ordeal - just replace parts, cross fingers, and hope for the best. Hoping we can now enjoy the vehicle... on a positive note, we have owned it for 7 months and have only 3,000 miles on it. ;-)

 

Hopefully 🤞🏼 fixed for good. Do keep us up to date.

I hope you enjoy... the crazy thing was - this didn't begin until about 1,000 miles. But, hoping with each vehicle produced they work out some of the kinks. Enjoy it!

 

The only thing that I observed with mine it was when I lifted to offroad 2 (car parked) and it was taking a lot of time to finish the task. After some time it starts to hear some knok once per 2 seconds lets say, like the suspension was forcing to lift and something was keeeping steady.
In the end, the task was completed.
I tried again few times and no knoking sound anymore.
4400 miles on the clock now after 10 months.

Maybe you guys should try and see.

 

That is definitely something I haven't heard before. Of course, I don't think I have commanded it to lift for any reason here in South Florida where it is a concrete jungle and flat. Hopefully you don't have any issues down the line.

 

UPDATE: Sadly, after about 100 miles of normal driving, the Service Suspension Immediately message came back on after parking in a parking lot. We had it back in service for 72 hours... I will update again with the latest parts swap plan Italy has in store.

 

UPDATE: Another month in the shop and Maserati in Italy decided to replace the Right Front Air Shock. The Left Front Air Shock + Air Pump were replaced during the last visit so let's see if this replacement does the trick. The dealership has driven it multiple times with no recurrence of the system warning. We pick it up tomorrow (Tuesday, May 28) and will hopefully have many trouble-free miles ahead of us. I will update the group after we have had a week or so to put it through the paces and ensure this demon has been exorcised. Cheers to all.

 

FINAL UPDATE: I wanted to wait a few weeks, and a few hundred miles before posting an update, but I am optimistic the issue was resolved. I wish I could say there was a "smoking gun" but it was this last air shock replacement that seemed to do the trick. They ended up replacing both front air shocks, with the front right hand being the most recent. In past issues it was less than 50 miles and the warning would return so this makes me feel we are in the clear. Happy to be driving it consistently and TRULY enjoying the car instead of holding my breath for a new suspension warning. Cheers to all.

 

having these types of complaints about a “luxury” car brand and more specifically the car that cost over $100K CAD is absolutely redicilous. Maserati should be sending a check reimbursement to each of you 5-10K for inconvenience.
