The leather seats in my 2023 Grecale have been ripping for over a year. I have gone to the dealer and then Maserati USA corporate to make aware of this issue. The consistent response is that warranty does not cover it and that the seats not defective. It must be "outside
influence". The vehicle is mostly garaged, only driven by me so not sure what outside influence this is?
If the is not a defect then is this "normal wear and tear"? Should I be responsible at lease turn in for the $3k Maserati dealer would charge to fix?
Doesn't seem like this should be happening.

Sorry to read that you have trouble with your leather seats ripping. I must say this is the very first time I’ve heard of this issue 🤷‍♂️ maybe post some pictures, so as everybody can see and give their opinion to you, which may help.

This is a defect, not normal wear. Do not accept responsibility. Escalate your dispute in writing with Maserati Financial Services and file a complaint with the NHTSA. Make them prove it was your fault.

Thanks for reply. Below find photos of the seats. Very frustrating that this seems as no problem to Maserati.

 

Definitely appears to be inferior leather defect.

 

I just can’t imagine how this can happen. Fully in the sun 365 a year ore something like that.

 

By the way $ 3.000,- for a fully and original repair is a nobrainer. But this is really something. Can not be normal!

 

Are you wearing this when you drive?

 

Did you get your car detailed on the inside? Looks like leather destroyed with a wrong product and you now have the after effects of that.
