Hello everyone,

I'm about to order a Maserati Grecale GT, but I'm still trying to get more impressions first.
However, in couple of reviews I saw people pointing that Hill Hold or Hill Start Assist are not working in Grecale. I did one test drive but forgot to test this. Any of new owners can test if this functionality is working ?
Is simple just to stop on a hill, apply the break, then take the foot from the break and accelerate, the car should not move backwards while the foot is moving from break to acceleration.

Thanks in advance for oyur answers.

Welcome to the forum.
I have not personally heard or read of this anywhere and have been following reviews since March and placing my order, but we do have a couple of members with cars already and hopefully we will get some actual user feedback soon.

Thanks for reply. I have translated the hole review and had a good read (y) I'm with what you are saying now "no auto hold" as does my Macan if you double tap the brake when stopped and in drive. But if you have drive engaged when taking your foot off the brake it should not roll back. Hopefully owner members will report soon.

Hi @Ciurica,
Welcome also from my side:
I am not sure now if we mean the same thing. If the automatic transmission is in D, I think (in any car) the rollback must be prevented in general.
But I have not yet paid special attention because that must work intuitively for me. Means I have noticed nothing negative / unusual.
In the user manual it then actually says: "Hill Start Assist", which is a standard activated option.
In this respect, I would be relaxed. However, I will explicitly test the behavior on a very steep hill and will let you know.

btw. Indeed the car has unfortunately no hold function, unlike in other cars: Hold vehicle in position in D without holding down the brake.

I took delivery of a fully loaded 2023 Grecale GT with all safety options. I noticed Hill Assist works and Autohold which according to user manual is an extension of Hill Assist does not despite all my efforts. Since the Maserati garage could not fix the problem and had no clue either, I also contacted Maserati customer service in Italy. Their initial response was surprising: « Autohold feature is not available on the Grecale model »! When I insisted by sending the scanned page of the car user guide describing Autohold and indicating it is an extension of Hill Assist, the second reply was « Autohold » is an option! The problem is that it does not appear as an « option » in the Maserati Grecale configurator! The mystery remains and gets thicker😂 Any help welcome to solve this

There isn't any autohold on this platform that underpins grecale, stelvio, grand cherokee and giulia.
You need to keep pushing the brakes or to put the car in parking everytime and then in drive to start...I know, this is comedy

I am confused about Auto Hold vs Hill Start Assist and after checking with the dealer here in Taiwan while waiting for my Grecale GT to come in Q4 this year, Grecale does have Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control. Auto Hold is, for example, for the driver to press the break to the end to “hold” the can when waiting in front of a traffics light (one of the scenarios). Grecale doesn’t support Auto Hold, but I think what we really care about is the Hill Start Assist. Person Chiu
