Hi everyone. After a loooong wait, we are finally able to get into a Maser - for me personally nearly a lifetime of waiting. We’re due to pick up our new Italian stallion on Saturday this week from Gray Paul Nottingham. Trofeo model, can’t wait!! We’ve had Alfas in the past, looking forward to getting back into a car with a bit of character

Congrats, hope all goes well on collection and the weather is good for you on the day.

Fantastic car had mine for two weeks now and has very much lived up to my expectations. Good luck (y)

Thanks very much … only 3 more sleeps to go 🥳
Now official Grecale owner. Love it ❤❤❤❤. Few issues with detailing work, with dealership but should all be rectified over coming weeks.

Welcome to the owners club ;) Glad to hear you love it. (y)

Detailing is not a job to have done by the dealer IMO they really don't have the professional staff or know how to carry out a good job unfortunately, Iv'e always had this done by an independent professional detailing company, even if the dealer offers it FOC.

Enjoy your new ride
You’re so right!! However, we were advised Reep (now Topaz) were completing works, by dealership from day 2. In actual fact it ended up being in-house valet services, which we weren’t aware of until we had began to look more closely at the car, and questioning workmanship. Loads of issues, doesn’t look as if it’s been machine polished. We have had a local detailer to where we live inspect it, and pointed out things we weren’t aware of eg., ppf not applied to some panels (track pack) and ceramic coating also missing on some panels. Very poor prep work also - number of scratches on tailgate, which is actually stomach churning!! Unfortunately, we don’t live within the local area to dealership - over 350mls away - to give car to Topaz for corrective with. We aren’t going to use the car now, due to having barely any protection which is heartbreaking …. Just got to stare at it in the driveway until issues are resolved. Looking back, we should’ve walked away but finance etc, had been completed before we were introduced to our car.

Sorry to hear this what a shame.

Unfortunately dealers valeters are normally just simple car washers on basic salary with no knowledge or training in detailing cars or even washing the car correctly. You will probably find that the dealer valeter has in fact introduced most of these scratches and problems as no doubt your detailer who inspected has said. Another word of warning ! I never allow them to wash my car either free of charge when the car goes in for a service etc, I give procise instructions not to wash my car.

I would now insist that the dealer collects the car (by trailer considering the distance and miles apart), leaves you with a loaner and it is taken to a professional detailer for correction and proper protection applied with evidence of that dealer used, or insist they use and pay for a local detailer to yourself.

Good luck and I hope it all gets sorted ASAP to your liking and approval so you can get out and enjoy your car.

Good advice, thank you. We’re both very persnickety about our car, in that no one washes it but us, using good quality shampoos, snow foams, two bucket method, etc. A great deal of work but worth it. I think we were both in shock, wife particularly gutted as Maserati is her dream brand!! Hoping all will be sorted to our satisfaction to take to Scottish Italian Car Day later this month 😣

One other thing you may wish to check as apparently it's happened on a couple of cars already, as mention in other post on here. The screws used to attach the rear registration plate to the plastic surround have been too long, they hit, mark and remove paint behind the reg plate. I had my reg plate stuck on without the plastic surround.
Good to know (y), thanks!!!
